Jackie Flanery (Heredia) was a standout gymnast during her collegiate career, earning the prestigious title of NCAA All-American in Floor Exercise in 2010 while representing the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, she was an integral part of the University of Oklahoma gymnastics team that secured the BIG 12 Team Championship titles in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Jackie's passion for coaching led her to serve as a volunteer coach at the University of Iowa from 2012 to 2013, where she honed her skills in guiding and mentoring aspiring gymnasts. In 2013, she transitioned to becoming the owner of Fuzion Gymnastics, committing herself to provide exceptional training opportunities to young athletes.
Mike Heredia, too, has an impressive track record in the gymnastics world. As a former athlete at the University of Oklahoma, he achieved the prestigious distinction of NCAA All-American in 2012. His contributions were instrumental in the University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics team's success, as they clinched the MPSF Conference Team Championship in the same year. Mike's coaching journey commenced as a men's assistant coach at the University of Iowa from 2012 to 2013, further refining his coaching abilities. In 2013, he and Jackie joined forces to co-own Fuzion Gymnastics, fostering a nurturing and empowering environment for aspiring gymnasts. Their dedication and guidance contributed significantly to the gym's growth and achievements.
In 2018, Mike took on the role of a women's assistant coach at the University of Nebraska, further expanding his coaching repertoire. His exceptional coaching abilities were acknowledged when he received the prestigious Region Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2019 at the University of Nebraska. Despite the commitments to collegiate coaching, Mike and Jackie's passion for Fuzion Gymnastics persisted, leading him to return to the gym full-time in 2020, ensuring the continued success and development of their program.
